Vital was born out of the passion and determination of the pioneering founders and investors to be a part of Nigeria’s growth story, Africa’s largest and most populous economy
Vital Products was incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1999. Vital Products set out to be the leaders in FMCG manufacturing, sales and distribution of excellent food and beverage products in Nigeria.
The company became operational in 1999 with the backup of an extensive business experience that spans over two decades.
The Company commenced operations as a manufacturer and distributor of fruit drinks and non-alcoholic beverages, the company subsequently pioneered the processing and packaging of tomato paste and a range of food condiments in 2006.
The company has launched over 45 SKUs across 3 sectors in; packaged food, seasoning & beverages. They are a established household brand that is trusted by a loyal consumer base & has years of quality and market share behind it.
Vital Products Plc was wholly family owned (Vital Asset Management) from 1999 – 2012. In 2012 a consortium of investors; RMB Corvest bought 25% of Vital and subsequently a further 15% of the company. The company is now 40% owned by RMB Corvest, 51% Vital Asset Management & 9% other shareholders.

The company in fulfillment of its mission of pursuit of excellence was certified by Standards Organisation of Nigeria (S.O.N) as having fulfilled the requirement for the award of the prestigious ISO 9001:2000; 2015 quality management system certificate.

At Vital we have a distinct purpose, to provide; the highest quality consumer packaged foods, beverages and seasoning at the most cost effective prices and in the most sustainable manufacturing environment. Our operational expertise across our entire business model has helped our vision to grow our business across Nigeria and the neighbouring countries. We are increasingly trying to reduce our carbon footprint and increase our social impact – with 99% recyclable waste which is recycled locally and reused.
We are also strengthening our ties with rural consumers which we believe will be significant for our future growth plans.
